Plain-language summary
This bill would allow people who were charged with or convicted of certain crimes because they were victims of human trafficking to ask a court to clear those charges or convictions from their record. It also restores voting rights to anyone whose felony conviction is removed under this process. The bill would apply retroactively, meaning people with past convictions could also seek relief. Who it may affect: people who were victims of human trafficking and have prior criminal charges or convictions connected to that experience.
