AN ACT relating to water fluoridation programs.

This bill would change Kentucky law to make water fluoridation optional rather than required for public water systems regulated by the state. Local governing bodies of water systems would gain the authority to decide whether to continue or end fluoridation, and any existing fluoridation programs would remain in place unless the governing body votes to stop them. Decisions made by a water system's governing body would also apply to any other water systems it supplies. Who it may affect: residents served by public water systems, local water utility boards, and local governments that oversee water infrastructure.
