AN ACT relating to water fluoridation programs.

This bill would make water fluoridation optional for local water systems in Kentucky, rather than required. Governing bodies of water systems would decide whether to add fluoride to their water, and any decision they make would apply to all water systems they supply. Water systems that currently fluoridate would continue doing so unless their governing body chooses to stop. Who it may affect: residents served by local and regional water systems, local water utility governing boards, and local government officials who oversee water supply decisions.
