Plain-language summary
This bill would bar large-scale landlords who already own 50 or more single-family rental homes in certain Kentucky counties from buying additional single-family homes in those areas, unless they plan to live in the home themselves. The restriction applies when a home has been listed for sale for less than 90 days, giving individual buyers a window to compete before large owners can step in. Violations would be treated as unlawful trade practices under existing Kentucky consumer protection law. Who it may affect: prospective home buyers, current renters, and large residential property owners in qualifying Kentucky counties.
