AN ACT relating to in line of duty disability benefits and declaring an emergency.

This bill would expand health insurance coverage for public employees who become disabled while performing hazardous duties. If passed, a member who suffers a line-of-duty hazardous disability would receive full hospital and medical insurance benefits, and that coverage would extend to their spouse and dependents as well. The emergency designation means it would take effect immediately upon becoming law. Who it may affect: public employees in hazardous roles and their families, including spouses and dependents of those who become disabled on the job.
