This bill would allow the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet to form sponsorship agreements with private businesses to help fund the upkeep of welcome centers and rest areas along Kentucky's highways. Any money received through these agreements would be required to go directly toward maintaining those facilities. The Transportation Cabinet would also be required to create official rules for how the sponsorship process would work. Who it may affect: travelers using Kentucky's highway rest areas and welcome centers, private businesses interested in sponsorship opportunities, and the Transportation Cabinet.
