Plain-language summary
This bill updates rules about when construction trucks can carry heavier loads on state roads. Builders constructing 10 or more homes within a one-mile area would need to apply for a permit and sign an agreement with the state Transportation Cabinet before using current weight-limit exemptions. The agreement may require the builder to pay into a fund used to maintain and repair the state roads affected by that heavy truck traffic. Who it may affect: residential homebuilders, housing developers, and communities where large-scale home construction is taking place.
