AN ACT relating to sanctuary policies.

This bill would ban Kentucky state and local governments from adopting so-called sanctuary policies, which limit cooperation with federal immigration enforcement. It requires law enforcement agencies, jails, and correctional facilities to share information with federal immigration authorities and comply with immigration detainers. Local governments that refuse to comply could lose state road funding, and officials who intentionally violate the law could face impeachment proceedings or a private lawsuit.
