AN ACT relating to orders of protection.

This bill increases the criminal penalties for people who repeatedly violate a court-issued order of protection and defines what counts as a repeated violation under Kentucky law. It updates two existing statutes to make clear when harsher consequences apply for ongoing noncompliance with these orders. Who it may affect: people protected by orders of protection, domestic violence survivors, and those subject to protection orders.
