AN ACT relating to human sexuality instruction in public schools.

This bill would change the rules around how human sexuality topics are taught in Kentucky public schools. It would allow puberty instruction to be taught to students in fifth grade and below, which is currently prohibited. It would also shift parental permission for human sexuality instruction from opt-in, where parents must actively sign up their child, to opt-out, where children are automatically included unless a parent requests otherwise. Who it may affect: parents of elementary and middle school students, and public school teachers and administrators.
