AN ACT relating to voters qualified for excused in-person absentee voting.

This bill would allow people who serve as caregivers for elderly, disabled, or ill voters to cast an in-person absentee ballot during the early voting period, a option previously limited to the voters themselves. Under current law, excused in-person absentee voting due to age, disability, or illness applies only to the qualifying voter, not to those caring for them. This change would make it easier for caregivers to vote when their caregiving responsibilities make it difficult to get to the polls on Election Day. Who it may affect: family members and other caregivers of elderly, disabled, or ill Kentuckians.
