AN ACT relating to unemployment benefits.

This bill would remove the one-week waiting period that currently delays when unemployed Kentuckians can begin receiving unemployment benefits. Under current law, eligible workers must wait one week before their benefits start; this change would allow payments to begin sooner after a claim is filed. Who it may affect: workers who have recently lost their jobs and are applying for unemployment benefits.
