AN ACT relating to teacher professional development.

This bill would require that certified school employees, such as teachers, be paid when they are required to attend professional development activities outside of their normal school day or school calendar. Currently, the law does not appear to guarantee this compensation, so the change would ensure staff are not expected to participate in required training on their own unpaid time. Who it may affect: certified school personnel, including teachers and other licensed school staff, across Kentucky public schools.
