This bill would allow the Kentucky Board of Education to create rules governing vehicles used by school districts to transport students, beyond traditional school buses. It also requires drivers of those district-owned, leased, or contracted passenger vehicles to hold a valid standard driver's license. The emergency designation means it would take effect immediately upon becoming law. Who it may affect: K-12 students who ride in district-arranged transportation, school district administrators, and drivers hired or contracted to transport students.
