Plain-language summary
This bill raises the fines that employers in Kentucky can face for workplace safety violations, for failing to fix cited violations, or for repeat offenses. Starting in 2025, the maximum fines would be adjusted each year based on inflation, phased in over three years, so that penalties keep pace with rising costs over time. This matters to Kentuckians because stronger financial consequences may encourage employers to maintain safer workplaces. Who it may affect: workers in industries regulated under Kentucky occupational health and safety law, and employers subject to workplace safety inspections and citations.
