This bill would create a new pathway for international medical graduates to obtain a provisional license to practice medicine in Kentucky, with the possibility of earning a full, unrestricted license after completing a provisional period. The Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure would be responsible for setting the specific requirements for this pathway and would need to collect data and report annually to the state legislature on how the program is working. Who it may affect: international medical graduates seeking to practice in Kentucky, and Kentuckians in areas that may have limited access to physicians.
