AN ACT relating to misclassification of employees.

This bill would create a legal remedy for workers who are incorrectly labeled as independent contractors by their employers when they should be classified as employees. It also establishes definitions for "independent contractor" and "misclassified" under Kentucky labor law, and repeals an existing related statute. Who it may affect: workers currently classified as independent contractors, employers who hire contract workers, and those in industries where contractor arrangements are common.
