AN ACT relating to sentencing.

This bill would change the rules for how prison sentences can be added together when someone is convicted of multiple offenses. Currently, state law places a cap on how long consecutive prison terms can total; this bill would remove that limit, allowing courts to stack indeterminate sentences without a maximum ceiling. Who it may affect: people convicted of multiple criminal offenses, as well as defense attorneys, prosecutors, and judges involved in sentencing.
