Introduced: March 4, 2026
Last action: March 11, 2026
Plain-language summary
This bill would change Kentucky law so that drug testing products, such as strips or kits used to check whether a substance contains dangerous chemicals or controlled substances, are no longer classified as drug paraphernalia. Under current law, possessing such testing tools could be treated the same as possessing paraphernalia used for drug use, and this bill would remove that legal risk for people who use these products to check substances for harmful compounds. Who it may affect: Kentuckians who use drug testing products to screen substances for dangerous or potentially deadly chemicals.
