AN ACT relating to pregnant inmates.

This bill would update state law to require that pregnant inmates and those who have recently given birth receive reasonable accommodations, including access to certified professional midwifery services or doula services when available. It applies to the period of pregnancy and the first six weeks after birth. The change would affect how Kentucky correctional facilities support incarcerated women during and after pregnancy. Who it may affect: incarcerated women who are pregnant or have recently given birth.
