AN ACT relating to public library district boards of trustees.

This bill changes how vacant seats on public library district boards can be filled. It allows a county judge/executive, with approval from the fiscal court, to fill those vacancies without having to consider recommendations from the library board or the state librarian, as long as the county has set up its own alternative appointment process. Who it may affect: county residents served by public library districts, county judges/executives, and fiscal court members.
