AN ACT relating to in the line of duty death benefits.

This bill expands existing benefits for families of Kentucky public safety workers who die in the line of duty to now include rescue squad personnel. Eligible family members would gain access to death benefits and tuition and fee exemptions at Kentucky colleges and universities. The bill also directs the Division of Emergency Management to establish the rules and procedures for determining eligibility. Who it may affect: rescue squad personnel, and the dependents and families of rescue squad members who die in the line of duty.
